Oakland Unified School District, Oakland, California
Teacher of Science through Language Arts Preparation Program for first through fifth grade students including five ELD/ELL classrooms and inclusion students. Provided hands-on science lessons utilizing whole class, small group and individual instruction. Students were seen 2 times a week, averaging 300 students a week. Self created hands-on Science curriculum spanning five grades. Concentration was on the scientific method, journal writing, and inquiry. Burckhalter Elementary School also included Art, Language Arts, and Drama taught to the Deaf / Hard of Hearing students in both "Standard English" and Sign Language.
